For recruiting agencies

Send clients shortlists they can trust.

Candidates now use AI to tailor every resume to your job description. Meritwise reads each resume with a skeptical eye, checks it against what the candidate actually says in interviews, and gives you one cited verdict. You only get paid when your candidate is hired, so submit the ones who hold up.

AI writes the resume. AI reads it. Nobody wins.

A keyword match used to be a signal. Now every resume mirrors the job description, so the best-looking one is often not the best candidate. For an agency, a weak submission costs you the placement and the client's trust.

Verify the resume. Don't trust it. Don't throw it away.

Step 1

Read the resume skeptically

Upload resumes in bulk (PDF or DOCX). Each is scored against your role's criteria, and resumes that simply mirror the job description are flagged. The resume counts for 30% of the final score.

Step 2

Check it against the interview

Add the transcript from each interview round. It is scored against the same criteria and counts for 70%. A resume claim the interview does not back up pulls the score down.

Step 3

Get one cited verdict

Every candidate gets a verdict from Strong Yes to Strong No, with the evidence behind it. Shortlist or reject, and send the client a recommendation you can defend.

The best resume is not always the best candidate

A sample for a Senior Backend Engineer role. The candidate who looked strongest on paper drops once the interview is scored, and the quieter resume rises.

Candidate A

Looked best on paper

LEAN NO
Resume (30%)
4.2
Interview (70%)
2.0
Combined
2.7

Resume echoes the job description almost line for line. In the interview, could not explain how they would handle a failed database migration, a core requirement they listed as a strength.

Candidate B

Looked average on paper

YES
Resume (30%)
3.6
Interview (70%)
4.3
Combined
4.1

Modest resume, but walked through a production incident in concrete detail and tied each decision to the trade-offs the role cares about.

Illustrative example with synthetic candidates. Scores are out of 5.

Questions

Does it replace my ATS or my sourcing?

No. Meritwise evaluates candidates you already have, from any source. It sits between receiving resumes and sending a shortlist.

Why not just trust the resume score?

Because resumes are now written to match the job description. We treat the resume as a claim to verify, then weight what the candidate shows in the interview more heavily.

Do I have to run interviews through Meritwise?

No. You run interviews as you do today and paste in the transcript. Meritwise scores it against your role's criteria.
